Getting started
- Do I need an account or an API key?
- No. Rosette Reviews runs on your WordPress site. The only optional feature that uses an outside service is the captcha you choose (Google reCAPTCHA, Cloudflare Turnstile or hCaptcha), and it uses your own keys.
- Is it Rosette Reviews, Rosette Review or RosetteReviews?
- The plugin is called Rosette Reviews, two words, plural. It is often written Rosette Review or RosetteReviews, and the WordPress.org slug is rosette-reviews, so searching any of those finds it. The paid add-on is Rosette Reviews Pro. It is made by Nowdigiverse and lives at rosettereviews.com.
- What do I need to run it?
- WordPress 6.0 or later, WooCommerce 8.0 or later, and PHP 7.4 or later. It is tested up to WordPress 7.1 and supports High-Performance Order Storage and the Cart and Checkout blocks.
- What happens to my existing WooCommerce reviews?
- They stay where they are and keep showing. Use Rosette Reviews → Import / Export to bring their ratings into the summary and filters. Deactivating or deleting Rosette Reviews leaves WooCommerce reviews untouched.
Reminder emails
- Are there limits on reviews or emails?
- No. The plugin does not count or cap reviews, reminder emails or photos. Your site’s normal mail setup sends the emails, so add an SMTP plugin if your host’s mail delivery is unreliable.
- Why are reminder emails not sending?
- Reminders run on Action Scheduler, which relies on WP-Cron. If your site gets little traffic or WP-Cron is disabled, set up a real server cron job. The Review Reminders screen shows each send and any error.
Reviews and display
- Can customers review without an account?
- Yes, if you allow guest reviews in Settings. Customers who follow a reminder link never need to log in. You can also require a verified purchase with WooCommerce’s own “Reviews can only be left by verified owners” setting.
- Will it conflict with my SEO plugin’s schema?
- Rosette Reviews adds its rating and review data to WooCommerce’s product schema instead of printing a second product, which avoids duplicate rating markup.
- Can I change how reviews look?
- Use Rosette Reviews → Design for colours and layout, with a live preview. Developers can copy a file from the plugin’s templates folder into yourtheme/rosette-reviews/ and edit it.
Data and privacy
- Does any review data leave my site?
- Not with the free plugin. Avatars come from the reviewer’s initials, so there is no Gravatar request. If you choose a captcha, the visitor’s browser connects to that provider (Google, Cloudflare or hCaptcha) on pages where they can submit a review, so the provider receives their IP address and browser data. In Pro, AI features, Google and Facebook sync, email connectors, webhooks, Facebook auto-post and the Google Shopping feed send data only after you switch them on.
- Is my data removed if I delete the plugin?
- Only if you turn on “Remove all data on uninstall” in Settings. Then the reviews Rosette Reviews created are deleted. Native WooCommerce reviews are always kept.
- How does it handle GDPR requests?
- Review forms can show a consent checkbox, and checkout can ask for consent to review emails (opt-in or opt-out), saved on the order with the time and wording. WordPress’s personal data export and erasure tools cover reviews, photos, questions and answers, the request log, review-link tokens, checkout consent answers and the unsubscribe list.
- Does it work on a multilingual store?
- Yes, with WPML (and WooCommerce Multilingual) or Polylang. Review emails and the review page use the language the customer ordered in, and you translate your own subject and text in your multilingual plugin’s string translation.
Rosette Reviews Pro
- Is the free plugin a trial?
- No. The free plugin has no time limit and no usage caps. Rosette Reviews Pro is an optional add-on for stores that want video reviews, replies, Q&A, rewards, AI summaries, imports and more widgets.
- Does Pro replace the free plugin?
- No. Pro is an add-on that needs the free Rosette Reviews plugin and WooCommerce installed and active.
- Which AI providers does Pro use?
- OpenAI or Anthropic, with your own API key, so you pay the provider directly and see the usage in your own account. Translation runs within a daily budget you set, and imported reviews never trigger AI calls.
- How is Pro licensed?
- Pro is sold per site count (1 site, 5 sites or unlimited) and billed yearly. Freemius handles checkout, licence keys and updates.
